Important Rivalry Game Tonight!!!

I am #54 in all the videos.  These are films from this season with highlights included. 

Our team, Portage Northern, plays our crosstown rival tonight as we attempt to keep our playoff hopes alive.  I am looking forward to having a great game and helping lead our team to victory tonight.

My senior season at Portage Northern is off to a great start!!!

In week 1, we lost a close game to Battle Creek Lakeview by a score of 12-6.  Week 2, our team came back to win against Kalamazoo Central 29-7.  In both games I contributed with a strong effort as a Defensive End and Offensive Tackle.  I am starting at both positions and also play special teams on the receiving team.

Sound Body Sound Mind Highlights June 11-12, 2015 at Dakota High School in Macomb, MI

These are my highlights from the Sound Mind Sound Body Camp held at Dakota High School in Macomb, MI on June 11-12, 2015.

Bluegrass Lacrosse Festival 2016/17 Gold Division Champions!!!

My team, the BJ Bandits, won the 2016/17 Gold Division for our first tournament championship of the Summer of 2015.  We played great as a team and look forward to the Pipe City Tournament in Vernon Hills, IL next week.

Ali Jr. is a great student: 

• Member of the National Honors Society.

BJ Bandits win the 2016/17 Gold Division at the Pipe City Tournament in Vernon Hills, IL

The weekend of July 11-12, 2015, my team, the BJ Bandits from Kalamazoo, MI won our second consecutive tournament in Vernon Hills, IL in the 2016/17 Gold Division.  I had a great defensive tournament and July 18-19 we will participate in the Niagara Lacrosse Tournament in Youngstown, NY.

My travel lacrosse team,  the BJ Sports Bandits, will be in Rochester, NY from June 19th - 21st participating in the Irondequoit Invitational.

The SMSB Camp at Dakota High School was a great opportunity this week.  Having the opportunity to work and listen to coaches from so many great colleges and university was a great experience.  I am looking forward to staying in touch with the coaches I met.

In a hard-fought regional battle on Wednesday, May 20, the Portage Northern boys lacrosse team took down rival Portage Central 8-6.

"I'm floating on cloud nine right now," coach Bob Kirk said. "It was a battle, and it went back and forth all game. Our motto is 'play like a team,' and that's what we did. There was a lot of effort from the guys. They wanted this. We're a family, and I'm proud of them."

This is a huge win for the team, which had never beaten Portage Central or made it this far in the postseason.

Mitch Kalleward led his team in scoring against Central, with three goals and two assists. Chace Quezada was right behind with three goals and one assist, while Matty Seiferlein had a goal and an assist and Eston Asher had an assist. In goal, Marius Vanderhoff stopped 13 of the 19 shots he faced.

Offense for Portage Central was mostly provided by Max Quertermus, who had three goals and two assists. Other contributors were Jacob Roth with two goals, Matt Chenwith one and Scott Solomon and Michael Kuchenbuch with an assist each.

After a short celebration, Portage Northern has to get back to work and prepare to faceOkemos on Tuesday, May 26.

"That will be a very tough game," Kirk said, "but we're ready to go at them."
